BinacionalThe UCSD Binational program has developed collaborations with pediatricians and obstetricians delivering HIV care in Baja California. The program provides consultation, care and access to clinical trials to children and pregnant women from Baja California.

Goal
The goal of these activities is to expand opportunities for clinical care, provider education and research along the bi-national border, to become a model for other bi-national, US-Mexico HIV/AIDS Projects.


Mission
The mission of the UCSD Binational Program is to increase the level of awareness to fully implement perinatal HIV testing to prevent maternal-fetal transmission, to deliver care and education for children and women and their families to improve their quality of life.

HIV consultation (by phone, e-mail or fax)
HIV screening for children and pregnant women
Bi-weekly HIV Outpatient Clinic at the Hospital General de Tijuana
HIV education for Healthcare specialists
