The UCSD Binational program has developed collaboration
with pediatricians and obstetricians delivering HIV care in Baja
California. The program provides consultation, care and access
to clinical trials to children and pregnant women from Baja California.
GOAL
The goal of these activities is to expand opportunities for clinical
care, provider education and research along the bi-national border,
to become a model for other bi-national, US-Mexico HIV/AIDS Projects.
MISSION
The mission of the UCSD Binational Program is to increase the
level of awareness to fully implement perinatal HIV testing to
prevent maternal-fetal transmission, to deliver care and education
for children and women and their families to improve their quality
of life.

HIV screening for children and pregnant women
Bi-monthly HIV Outpatient Clinic at the Hospital General de Tijuana
HIV education for Healthcare specialists

EUNIME - Por Tijuana, A.C. is a group of individuals
who work on both sides of the borders of California & Baja California
to provide social and support services to children living with
HIV/AIDS and their families in Tijuana.
CORE SERVICES
Support Groups where families can meet and share their own stories in a safe environment
Emergency assistance with medications, lab tests, food, hygiene products, clothes and shoes (Items are provided through donations)
Educational workshops (offered by volunteers from UCSD as well University in Tijuana graduate students)
Linking families with Public Health Department in Tijuana Civic Center and other community resources
Recreational Activities such as Day of the Child, Mother's Day, and Christmas Celebration
The first camp for families is scheduled for July 2005 thanks to the Scouts Association of Tijuana.
EUNIME - POR TIJUANA, A.C. is the first support
center focused in infected children and their families in Tijuana
B.C. organized by HIV/AIDS affected members and volunteers.
