Who We Are
- Our mission is to provide medical care, clinical
research, and support services utilizing evidence-based best practices
and a youth centric model. As part of a university based program we
link new knowledge with clinical care and train the next generation
of healthcare providers. We emphasize a collaborative multi-disciplinary
approach to understanding and addressing the diverse and unique issues
facing youth. Collaboration occurs in alliance with local, state, and
national networks of service providers.
History
- The UCSD Mother Child & Adolescent HIV Program
has offered comprehensive family centered care since 1996. Initially
the program started by Stephen A. Spector, M.D. and Larry Friedman,
M.D. as a clinic design to meet the specific needs of adolescents living
with HIV.
