The staff at the UCSD Youth HIV Program understands the unique needs of the GLBTQQ community and is committed to providing a safe place for all people. We offer all services in a respectful, confidential manner to all GLBTQQ youth and their families.

As part of our commitment to all young people, UCSD offers individual and community health education and social support opportunities. The following is a list of some websites that are sensitive to the GLBTQQ community:

The community based research initiatives of Safeguards provide a foundation for our community health interventions and public advocacy work.

  • Transfamily

    TransFamily is a support group for transgendered and transsexual people, their parents, partners, children, other family members, friends, and supportive others. We provide referrals, literature, and over-the-phone information on all transgender issues. Although our meetings are held in Cleveland, Ohio, the Internet has enabled us to extend helping hands to transgendered individuals and their famlies across the globe.

    YouthResource, a Web site created by and for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (GLBTQ) young people 13 to 24 years old, takes a holistic approach to sexual health by offering support, community, resources, and peer-to-peer education about issues of concern to GLBTQ young people. YouthResource has four focus areas: health, advocacy, community, and issues in our lives.
